Time Traveler Pi-Miler

The Time Traveler Pi-Miler is a race that is held the Saturday that Daylight Saving Time ends. The race starts at 1:50 AM, ten minutes before the clocks are set back so when the runners cross the finish line, the time on the clock is an hour earlier than when they started. The name refers to Pi, 3.14 miles which is close to a typical 5k race in length.

Done for the Science Museum of Western Virginia during AAF’s Creatathon, a 24 hour event where creatives in the advertising world collaborate on projects for local non-profits. It’s a charity event that’s loads of fun and each team creates their project from concept to client delivery in 24 hours. I was teamed up with Access Advertising and PR this year to shoot this and one other project.

The spot was shot in CinemaDNG RAW on a Blackmagic Production Camera 4k using Rokinon Cine lenses. Picture was given a one light grade in DaVinci Resolve, edited and finished in FCP X.
