Fire Up 611!

“Fire Up 611” Winner of 2013 PRSA Summit Awards:

  • Gold – Audio/Visual Long Format – Average Budget
  • Best In Show – Audio/Visual Long Format – Average Budget

Access Advertising and PR chose Dave Perry as Director of Photography to shoot “Fire Up 611”, a fund raising campaign film to get the 611 back out on the rails. A wide range of interviews of people who worked on the 611 and traveled on it as a kid, as well as archival footage and stills supplied by Norfolk Southern, were used to tell a story of a beloved and majestic steam locomotive that is part of railway history.

The goal was to produce a short film that did not use the tired old “clickity clack…goin’ down the railroad track” theme, but rather an upbeat homage to its heritage and future for younger generations in an effort to fund restoration of the 611 for rail service.

We succeeded!

A hearty and long blow of the steam whistle goes to Access for trusting in Dave Perry Cinematographer LLC to tell this story. Thanks!
