Client Color Grading for The Glebe – “Abundance”

DPC-LLC provides client color grading and editing. Shot by Boyd-Pearman Photography in Roanoke Virginia on a Canon 5D MK III with a flat color profile, I was able to give it some punch and bring it up to the high standards that Boyd-Pearman has set in their still photography.

In order to stay within a target budget and quick turnaround, we decided to edit as well as color grade within Final Cut Pro X. Final Cut Pro from its inception has had a strong focus on color correction and grading from directly inside the application itself. FCP X expands on that with built in color grading and compositing tools found traditionally in dedicated apps. With those tools and third party plugins that allow the use of LUTs within FCP X, DPC-LLC was able to start processing footage immediately while the client was in the edit suite, allowing him to see instant results and make changes on the spot.
